BIOGRAPHY
Bill Louden is one of the early pioneers in the on-line/Internet Industry with over 30 years at the forefront of on-line and Internet services development. Bill was on the founding team at CompuServe in 1979; founded his first commercial Internet venture, Georgia On-Line, in 1984; founded the GEnie Online Service at the General Electric Company in 1985 and was its President through 1991. At GE, he led the business to #2 in the USA and #1 in Europe/Japan, serving customers on three continents.
Bill also made significant contributions at Delphi Internet, a division of News Corporation, leading their product migration from legacy mainframes to the Web in 1995, led the acquisition integration of GolfWeb.com for CBS Sportsline, and served as Vice President, Product Development at Looksmart.com. Louden joined the public Internet B2B portal company, Preference Technologies, as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2000, and secured $10 million funding leading to the merger with US AutoWeb in 2002.
In 2002, he founded Peer Forward, Inc., a business intelligence software and consulting company, that developed business and enterprise visual data mining products. Louden sold the company to ADVFN, plc, in 2005.
Bill is a graduate of Ohio State University with a BA in English and Japanese and holds an MBA, International Management degree from the University of Maryland. He currently serves as Area Chair for Management, Finance, Operations, and Information Systems at the University of Phoenix, Austin Campus and continues to explore new next-generation Internet opportunities.
