I see two
challenges in today's classroom. First today's students, especially the adult
learners, expect learning to be immediately relevant, easily obtained, and
accessible 24/7. Students today live in a world of CNN, the Internet, and
iPods and expect their learning media to be similar. Second, most of
today's faculty are still more comfortable in the world of books, logical
databases, and peer-reviewed streams of textual information.
In addition
to editorial comments that I will post in my blog, these pages will contain
technology tips and how-to's for students and faculty alike. I don't
intend these pages to be all-inclusive of the tools available on the Internet,
but I do hope to highlight how to use Basic as well as some esoteric tools
available to faculty and students alike.
